Archeo Venice Design: A touch of history
The products of the Italian company Archeo Venice Design (Venice) are easily recognizable thanks to a unique style. Delightful vintage mirrors with oriental design, wonderful lamps with tassels and beads, as well as dishes and vases covered with unique patterns breathe history and invite contemplation. Archeo Venice Design finds themes for its inspiration in the museums of Venice. And above all, here we are talking about the Museum of Fortuny (Museo Fortuny Palace).
The distinctive features of Archeo Venice Design products are European quality, airiness of forms and adherence to the creative ideas of Mariano Fortuny the "Wizard from Venice".
The famous fashion designer and interior decorator Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo (Born in Spain, moved to Italy, 1871-1949) managed to raise the fashion to the rank of art. The study of ancient ornaments, as well as Venetian and Oriental techniques allowed him to create collections of unique fabrics and patterns. Fortuny not only modeled clothes made of silk and velvet with an oriental fleece. Emitting mysterious light fixtures with silk shades covered with the finest pattern, also struck the imagination of contemporaries.
Archeo Venice Design recreates in the glass copies of the original products of Mariano Fortuny, which were originally made of silk. To produce these copies, modern, proprietary technologies are used. The main material is Murano glass. Finishing with 24-carat gold and 20-carat platinum gives the products nobility and allows creating "alive" surfaces.
The concept of Archeo Venice Design fully corresponds to the aesthetic idea of the maestro Mariano Fortuny, which combines a color combination, light, decorative elements and technical principles into a single system.
Murano glass in the Archeo Venice Design collections
For more than 700 years, Venetian glass blowers, keeping in strict confidence the technology, produce amazing vases, dishes, mirrors and lampshades. According to centuries-old traditions, all of the items produced by Archeo Venice Design are made by hand, so every item is unique. In addition, despite their apparent fragility all the items are solid and durable thanks to technology specially developed by the company's specialists.
Designer Fortuny is known not least as the creator of the original silk shade lamps and the diffuse light system for the theater. Archeo Venice Design replaces the silk lampshades with the plafonds made of the valuable Murano glass, the charming shimmer of which is the best way to transmit the gentle silk gleam. The soft diffused light of these lamps, reflected from the surfaces, creates a very special "theatrical" atmosphere.
Today, in addition to mirrors in chic frames and exquisite dishes, in the assortment of the company you will find beautiful chandeliers with cone-shaped shades resembling a fountain (Fountain), multi tier chandeliers with dome shades, sconces with long tassels and echoing them elegant floor lamps, and many other unique products. Сhandeliers are decorated with the discs made of metal processed with laser. For the manufacture of frames and chains of fixtures, massive brass is used. Lamps-lanterns assembled of geometric glass plates reflect light at different angles and create a magical atmosphere. Hangers, cords and tassels made of silk, as well as beads of Murano glass serve as a luxurious exotic decor. The height of the suspended fixtures is adjustable. You can choose soft colors of the plafond or more vivid colors.
The table lamp 203.00 deserves special attention. Its design clearly echoes one of the main inventions of the maestro, a finely pleated dress-tunic "Delphos gown" (1907) and a wrap. Fashionable style of Fortune enjoyed a wide range of admirers including Sarah Bernhardt, Isadora Duncan, Marcel Proust.
Each product of Archeo Venice Design is covered with exquisite ornament. Thanks to the new technologies, the ornaments created by Master Fortuni fit perfectly on the glass. There are not only the ethnic patterns of the ancient East and North Africa, but also the ornaments inspired by the Italian Renaissance paintings.
Aesthetics of Art Deco in your interior
The influence of the culture of East and North Africa can be clearly traced in the design of each product. When we are talking about fixtures, then in many cases the influence of Moroccan culture is recognized here. These stunning products are distinguished by their exquisite decoration, and the variety of shapes with a touch of whimsicality. The design of other lamps is dominated by the exoticism of the Middle East.
While Fortuny sought inspiration in the past to create his masterpieces, the masters of Archeo Venice Design take inspiration from the heritage of maestro Fortuny, one of the most outstanding creators of the early 20th century and the founder of Art Deco. At the same time, they create products of completely new quality, raising the creativity of the great designer-experimenter to the contemporary level.
This elegant blend of Art Deco and Eastern influence is easily combined with the modern European materials and furniture. Any item created by the Italian manufacturer works well as a luxury accent in the contemporary interior. It certainly will emphasize your good taste and an excellent sense of style.
Archeo Venice Design provides brilliant accent ideas. This applies to the fantastically beautiful pendant lights and lanterns for the living area, ceiling lights for the dining table, and charming table lamps for the bedroom or study.
