The Beads pendant light is a strong statement piece by Winnie Lui for innermost, available in two designs and a range of memorable finishes. The Beads bring together the best detailing and finishing from designer Winnie Lui's jewellery craft and combine it with the engineering and technology of modern lighting design. The results are these striking forms which, when lit, provide an array of infinite reflections, as if the interior was inlaid with jewels.

History of Innermost
The history of innermost goes back to the year 1999, when designers Steve Jones and Russell Cameron decided to give up their jobs at a design consultancy and in furniture design respectively to found a company in Central London, which would be based on their shared vision of a new and exciting brand as well as an extensive background in manufacturing. Having had witnessed many brilliant design ideas never coming to fruition, they planned to combine said experience with a design angle in order to help such concepts to be realized. Going through various ideas, the team of two gave some of the most outstanding ones the label „inner-most dream“ - thus the company‘s name was born.
Jones and Cameron began their work at an old lighting factory in North London‘s Wembley, which would eventually evolve into a thriving company collaborating with international designers who regard London as their home. As of today, innermost maintains a manufacturing facility in Telford at which many of the company‘s lights and lampshades are fabricated.
The Innermost of What It Means to Be British
Innermost has set out to be „as British as London itself“ - a philosophy which incorporates the city‘s lively diversity and high-spiritedness, but also its quirky, rebellious side, reflected in the company‘s unconventional use of materials and manufacturing process. In this way, innermost combines the venerable traditions of Britain with the disobedient spirit of punk. To be British like this is premised on antagonism and a certain tension between non-conformism and the pursuit of excellence following established standards, as well as the occasional tentativeness about what it actually means to be British – all ingredients of the innermost essence of being just that, having been added to the company‘s philosophy. Above all, innermost wants to reach out to the whole world to share this sense with it, never forgetting about how the whole world is mirrored in the British life itself.
With a rich background in manufacturing, innermost has a particularly interesting approach to the utilization of materials and the production methods applied to them, often defying standard practice. Innermost has also devoted itself to the exploration of how light can be employed as a type of raw material.
The materials used by innermost are exclusively high quality and sourced all around the world to obtain only the best available. The same goes for producers, who are thoroughly searched for and employed for the fabrication of individual components requiring specific techniques, such as in the example of hand-blown glass made by master artisans from the Czech Republic where Bohemian glass has its origin. All the manufacturers chosen by innermost adhere to ethical standards of social and environmental responsibility. Throughout the entire process, the company maintains a very close relationship with their business partners to ensure that all its objectives are met.
Innermost‘s Witty Contemporary Pieces
The style represented by Innermost is unorthodox, contemporary, at times minimalist, at others rather splendid. The company makes furniture (i.e. armchairs, sofas, dining tables and side tables) and lighting such as chandeliers, pendants, floor lamps, table lamps and wall lamps, but also manufactures lampshades separately.
Innermost‘s Facet chandelier by Tom Kirk is undoubtedly an eye-catching object, rendering it an ideal centrepiece for any room. The multitudinous facets it was named after have the amazing effect of reflecting the surrounding space at a large variety of angles, both from the inside and the outside. The highly polished stainless steel or polished brass finishes of the metal used are commonly mistaken for actual crystal or glass when looking from a distance.
The Beads pendants designed by Winnie Lui, on the other hand, can be obtained in two different versions and a chrome, copper, gloss black or gloss white finish. The Penta and Octo are both designed for spaces of different sizes, with Penta being the smaller one featuring equal dimensions and slightly more depth than Octa, making it a perfect candidate for small and narrow spaces. The larger Octa is intended for larger spaces, where a strong statement needs to be set. These pendants‘ fantastic design has been inspired by jewellery, with the generously sized spheres creating a reflection pattern reminiscent of jewels on their inside.

Winnie Lui graduated from Central Saint Martins in Fashion Communication and Promotion. She is at once a fashion stylist, photographer and custom jewellery designer. She has performed as a stylist for singer/actress Gigi Leung and worked for photographer Wing Shya in Hong Kong while attaining the knowledge of silver smithing from London-based jewellery designer Lara Bohinc. Inspired by her surroundings, obsessed with both new and vintage toys, she is attracted to small details that people overlook and everyday objects that are beautiful but seem unimportant. Lui's exclusive collaboration with Innermost produced creations where fashion meets product design.
