While most pendants are made of glass or metal, Mollis is knitted in 3D. The knitted lampshade is pulled over a metal frame, a bit like, well … a pullover. It’s a very simple construction with minimal material consumption, and the shade can be easily removed to be washed or replaced.
Most of the LED light is effectively directed downwards, but the light is also diffused by the fabric and provides a soft ambience to the room. The knitted pattern lets the light through and emphasizes the shape and the architectural character of the lamp. Soft, elegant and understated - Mollis is timeless like a cathedral dome – if the dome was knitted, that is.
