Reproduction of antique model. Louis XVI footstool. The width of this footstool, identical in style and carving to banquette L16 TB 3 and bergere L16 TF 4/2 makes it suitable for use as a foot rest with the bergere or sofa L16 TF 4/4. On its own, it can be used as a seat, and can also be combined with the sofa. It comes in two versions : with or without feather cushion. Louis XVI Style French style period reverting to classicism, inspired by the straight lines of ancient Greece and Rome, from 1777 to 1790, corresponding roughly to the reign of Louis XVI (1774 – 1793). The period, and the intermediate styles coming in between Louis XV and Louis XVI are known as “transitional” in the trade and “neoclassical” by researchers.
