General eye-level mounting is typically 145–165 cm (57–65 in) to the centre of the sconce. At bedsides, place switches within easy reach and centre the light source ~95–120 cm (37–47 in) above the floor, offset 10–20 cm (4–8 in) from the mattress edge. For corridors, repeat fixtures at intervals of roughly 1.8–2.4 m (6–8 ft) depending on output and beam spread.
