History of Italamp
1975 marks the beginning of Italamp, the year in which this company was established by Matteo Vitadello in Cadoneghe. From then on, the Italamp brand has seen a steady growth of its reputation in the market sector of decorative and luxury lighting, having become known and trusted by a sophisticated customer base for its competence and know-how with respect to glass. Italamp not only knows how to expertly draw from Italy‘s old glassmaking tradition, it is also a company permanently moving forward to grasp new trends and technological innovations in order to refine its production methods and create lighting of lasting quality.
Italamp: Reenvisioning the Past
Harnessing the creativity and wisdom of Italian manufacturing traditions, Italamp‘s keen perception and ability to reenvision the past to come up with ideas applicable to a future already in the making, are the strenghts this company has been building on for many decades.
Italamp certainly has decoded what it is that makes up a great company‘s DNA. Its production reflects the Italian manufacturer‘s close attention to detail, expertise in choosing only the best and most suitable materials, innovative spirit and promptness to spot new trends.
One important principle guiding the company is that of applicability: What context is the object going to be placed in? How can it be designed so that it makes the best of the space made available to it? Proceeding in this way of contextualizing design ideas, Italamp never fails to anticipate its customers‘ needs, coming up with designs that are relatable and original at the same time, free from excess but also fresh and unique.
To support this aspiration, large investments are made in research and systems of quality control, allowing Italamp to test out materials and set up specific guidelines to ensure that each material is handled according to its properties.
Italamp: Made in Italy
Italamp offers a Moderno (Incanto) line and a Classico (Opera) line. The Moderno product range encompasses wall lights, table lamps, ceiling lights, spot lights, pendants and floor lamps, which are all also covered by Classico. And in the outdoor section, Italamp offers wall lights.
As an illustrative example of what makes an Italamp product, there is the Crowns family of suspension lights designed by Marco Piva for Italamp. With a striking lampshade made up of decorative hand-blown glass pieces, it is completed by a metallic structure adding a soft modern touch. Resembling a crown in shape, these suspension lights are majestic in appearance and leave a sun-like illumination pattern on the ground, all powered by an LED light source.
Another example of Italamp‘s distinguished designs is the Amalia suspension lamp. It features a white finishing with twelve glass tubes covered in a photosensitive coating, each revealing a Swarovski Elements crystal placed inside of it. This astonishing piece is both futuristic and made to last, a balancing act of simplicity and extravagance.
As for the classic type of lamps in Italamp‘s varied assortment, the Fata Morgana wall lamp by Edward van Vliet is a sight to behold. Its metal in a matted antique gold finish is complemented by sections of carved glass.
