History of Mariner
A renowned family business spanning many generations, Mariner was founded by Valencian entrepreneur Enrique Mariner Gurrea in 1893, selling bronze lighting, the focus on which his son and talented designer, Enrique Mariner Saurí, would continue to reflect in his book „Bronze in the Light“, dealing with the artistic merit of this metal. Franciso Mariner Saurí, the other representative of Mariner‘s second generation, was a visionary and gifted businessman, who would predict coming trends and come up with unprecedented design ideas, ensuring Mariner‘s successful development as a company.
Now in the third generation, Mariner set up a management team for all of the company‘s branches, each led by a single family member, but all participating in the decision-making processes of the company as a collective.
Thus, Mariner stands for a multigenerational learning experience, each family generation making sure that the accumulated know-how is passed onto the next, placing younger members of the family under proper training and guidance.
Today, the fourth generation is represented by Francisco Mariner Colomer, Mónica Mariner Tamarit, Alejandro Mariner Rande, Mario Mariner Tamarit and Jorge Mariner Rande.
