Based on a 17th century antique Dutch sconce from Vaughan's archive, this wall light demonstrates intricate repoussé metalwork. The ornate oval backplate is curved to reflect light and is juxtaposed by the simplicity of the arms.
Craftsmen use the art of repoussé and chasing metalwork, hand-pressing the patterned detailing onto the solid brass backplate. The fine metalwork is best observed in the decorative detailing on the curved oval backplate, which reflects light beautifully.
