Nell is a refined bronze sculpture created in 2006 by the renowned sculptor JOSEFA at her studio in France. The composition portrays a tender and intimate moment between a woman and a child, capturing a timeless sense of protection, warmth, and emotional connection.
The sculpture reflects JOSEFA’s distinctive figurative style, where carefully balanced proportions and subtle modeling of the surface emphasize the expressive beauty of the human form. The natural interaction between the figures gives the artwork a quiet strength and poetic character.
Cast in bronze at the Venturi Foundry, the sculpture belongs to a limited edition of 30, each piece individually numbered and signed by the artist. The present sculpture is numbered 26/30. Each artwork is engraved with the edition number, the foundry stamp, and the artist’s signature, and is accompanied by its original Certificate of Authenticity.
With its rich bronze patina and expressive composition, Nell functions both as a collectible artwork and as a sophisticated decorative object for refined interiors, art collections, and curated spaces.

About Designer
“The French sculptor celebrates the modern woman in her vibrant and seductive sculptures, with grace, lightness, and imagination.”
Josepha was born in 1950 in southwestern France and lives in the rural surroundings of Drôme.
Drawing on her background as a fashion designer, Josepha has preserved a deep desire to highlight the female body. In her sculptures, she explores the full breadth of this universe, creating works imbued with a special atmosphere of grace and lightness.
Josepha portrays women in all their splendor by emphasizing their femininity, sensuality, tenderness, and their exuberant or gentle nature. Her figures live, move, breathe, and have nothing in common with classical academic art. If one had to choose a patron for her, it would inevitably be Degas.
Her sculptures embody complete grace, absolute lightness, delicacy, and the beauty of a dancer’s body.
“I like to idealize. My work is a form of relaxation, and every new idea is born like a game, like a beautiful story.” — Josepha
