Reproduction of antique model. Louis XV Child’s Bergere Child’s bergere, circa 1760. A copy of a 19th Century original, this little bergere seems to be a scale model of an adult chair, although the new dimensions mean the curves are slightly stiff. The discreet flower carving corresponds to the Louis XV style of circa 1765.
Louis XV Style The French style period from approximately 1730 to 1770, although this king was on the throne from 1715 (the Regence period ran from 1715 to 1723) until 1774. Inspiration taken from plants, hence a curvilinear style.
