This very attractive model has an original, graceful, openwork fiddle-back splat. Deep moulding, curved legs and strong rail are inherited from the French rule-book, but combined with the gentle carving typical of the Liege region make this a model free from excessive prettiness. The comfort of this light chair is due to its curved, or en cabriolet back.
Louis XV Style The French style period from approximately 1730 to 1770, although this king was on the throne from 1715 (the Regence period ran from 1715 to 1723) until 1774. Inspiration taken from plants, hence a curvilinear style.
