						Reproduction of antique model. Ruy Blas Armchair This armchair from the "Haute Epoque" began its career on 4 April 1879 with the arrival of Ruy Blas at the Comédie Française. This was one of Victor Hugo's most famous plays. It played a supporting role then to some of the most distinguished actors of the time. Such greats as Mounet Sully who played Ruy Blas, Coquelin Ainé, Dom Cesar de Bazan and particularly, in the role of the Queen, the great Sarah Bernhardt. There can have been few greater moments in the annals of the Comédie Française.
