Reproduction of antique model. Louis XV Moulded Armchair, circa 1755-1760. Original: collection of an antiquarian in Gent (Belgium).
This Louis XV armchair, of generous dimensions, is a sober chair, as it has no carved floral motifs. However, its deep mouldings, the lower splat clasp ornaments and restrained curves, make it a fine, unostentatious chair, which can fit in with any decor. The concept of comfort is as much to the fore as with the model L15TFA1.
Louis XV Style The French style period from approximately 1730 to 1770, although this king was on the throne from 1715 (the Regence period ran from 1715 to 1723) until 1774. Inspiration taken from plants, hence a curvilinear style.
